The process
Three steps, no surprises, and nothing to pay until you’ve seen where it’s heading.
Send your photos
Pick a few favourites — the daft ones work best. I paint personality, not passport shots. Three to five is plenty.
I paint the thing
Acrylic on canvas, all by hand. Heavy linework, colour cranked up. About 3–4 weeks of proper attention, and you’ll see it before it’s finished.
It lands on your wall
Signed and couriered to your door, ready to hang. You get a one-of-one; your dog gets an ego.
What makes a good photo
The painting can only be as good as the photo it’s painted from.
- Good, even natural light — no harsh shadows across the face.
- Shot at your pet’s eye level, not looking down at them.
- True fur and eye colour — skip the heavy filters and warm indoor lamps.
Questions people actually ask
How long does it take?
About 3–4 weeks from approved sketch to being packed and posted, sometimes longer over Christmas. If you’re working to a birthday, say so in the form and I’ll tell you straight away whether it’s doable.
Can you paint a pet who’s passed away?
Yes, and often do. Just mention it when you send your photos. If there’s a particular expression or moment you want captured, tell me and I’ll work from that.
Can I commission this as a surprise gift?
Definitely — book it under your own name and email and note that it’s a surprise. I’ll send the work-in-progress photo to you, not to the pet’s owner.
What if it doesn’t look right?
You’ll see a sketch and a work-in-progress photo before anything is final, so you can flag changes — colour, expression, framing — while there’s still time to change them. Nothing ships as a surprise to you.
When do I pay?
Not until you’re happy with the sketch. The form is an enquiry, not a checkout — I’ll reply with a firm quote first, and you decide from there.
Do you ship outside Australia?
Yes. Everything is packed flat and tracked. Add your city in the notes and I’ll confirm shipping cost with your quote.
